The inspiration for this project came from my personal relationships and acknowledging the fact that communication is vital in relationships. I wanted to explore ways in which I could make it easier and more fun for couples to communicate on a daily basis.

Soulmate is an interactive game designed to enhance communication between partners. It features nine different prompts, each representing a conversation topic. Players select six tiles for each turn, spin the sides, and get a randomly generated prompt. Players then share something based on their prompts.

The game is designed to be fun and engaging while also promoting healthy communication and understanding in relationships. The prompts cover a range of topics, including sharing experiences from your day, discussing insecurities, or talking about one’s favorite book at the moment.

To gather insights on my prototype and prompts, I tested them with three different couples at varying stages of their relationship. Specifically, I chose couples who were in different stages, such as newlyweds, not living together, and those with grown-up children. Here are some of the valuable insights I gained from these tests.
Packaging.
I used the packaging to display three simple steps on how to play the game. I placed it on the side that is first seen when a user opens the box just so it can all make sense.

The design I created for the outside of the box was simple and consistent with the brand’s style. I used inspiring feedback comments from users within the design to motivate other people to try the product as well.
